Botany Section

Recently a party of Wildflower Society members visited Jersey.  Some welcome finds were made includingSpergularia bocconii Greek sand-spurrey which has not been seen for many years.  Also a new site at Grosnez forBromus madritensis Compact Brome.  Members of the Wildflower Society keep lists of all the plants they have seen and some were able to see 30 new plants in Jersey, an indication of the many unusual and rare plants that we have in the island.  One rare Jersey speciality Hypochaeris maculata Spotted Cat's-ear was blooming in spectacular form at Grosnez
